Description
Argentine 1891 Rifle produced by Ludwig Loewe and purchased by the Spanish for the Spanish American War for issue to troops in Cuba. Captured by the US at the end of the war, this rifle was shipped to Springfield Armory where it was eventually auctioned likely to Bannerman. SPANAM rifles exhibit the rare original rear sight not often seen on Argentine rifles.
This rifle is in poor condition, missing the bolt, with ample dents, dings, cracks, dark brown finish, and damaged muzzle.
