Sportmodell Rifle Walther – (R580)

Description

Pre-war produced Walther single shot 22. Unmarked as to model, sometimes referred to as a “Sportmodell” though it is not marked as such. Walther banner on top of receiver. Over all condition of the rifle is poor to fair with the wood being sanded and the metal being refinished(cold blue?). Remnants of pitting/corrosion on exterior of receiver and bolt handle. Walther buttplate, as Walther plastic is apt to do, is cracked and seperating. Interior condition is excellent, bore is bright and shiny. Ranger Model 4x scope with fine reticle is cloudy and needs the front lens cleaned. Mounts are a Unertl style, with micrometer rear adjustment. Missing rear sling swivel. A great vintage rifle, a “shooting grade” or excellent for parts to restore a nice collector condition rifle.
